Hello, and welcome in.
I’m Rachel Klebanov, a Japanese-American Ashkenazi Jewish therapist and creative consultant currently based in Washington, DC. I am a daughter, sister, Pisces, lefty, and Highly Sensitive Person. Above all, I am passionate about pleasure and wellness for traditionally marginalized communities, with particular interest in promoting visibility and uplifting voices of multiracial individuals, as well as exploring the unique bicultural experience.
I dedicate much of my time to working with individuals from multicultural backgrounds at my therapy and healing arts practice, Intuitive Body Counseling and Healing. My therapy practice is informed by training in Internal Family Systems and sex therapy, as well as principles of embodied awareness, intuitive work, and energy healing. Being a healer in both a traditional and innovative sense, my intention is to support my clients and members of my community through an anti-oppressive lens, promoting creativity and fullness of expression. An active resident of the Adams Morgan neighborhood, I care deeply about our third places–bookstores, bars, and outdoor spaces alike.
As a creative consultant, I keep my finger on the pulse of cultural identity work on micro, meso, and macro levels with humility, curiosity, and relational depth. My own creative work explores the diversity of cultural identity and personal transformation. I am available for collaboration with healing practitioners, creatives, cultural workers, restaurant industry professionals, and other curators of experience: please reach out for an ideas exchange! I have advised numerous other creatives and creators on their personal projects.
My pillars and values center ease, vulnerability, humor, and tenderness. I enjoy walks across the Duke Ellington bridge, connecting with friends over mock-tails, all things food, covering classic songs; water aerobics, creative nonfiction, animal-print, cracking jokes, fresh flowers, and warm embraces.
With gratitude,
Rachel
